What is the best way to back up Odoo safely?

I don’t trust manual backups anymore. I set up daily automated database dumps and let them run without thinking about it. The real win was storing them somewhere outside the server.

For self-hosted Odoo, I back up both the PostgreSQL database and the filestore. I forgot the filestore once and restoring was useless without attachments.

I keep backups automated but send myself a simple email notification if a backup fails.
