In order to change the ownership of a file/folder one need to use CHOWN command. Below mentioned is the syntax for the same:
Syntax:
chown [-R] newowner filenames
-R Change the ownership for file/folder that does reside in the subdirectories of the directory.
newowner The alias/username of the new owner of the file.
filenames The file that you are changing the ownership.
