How do I know my site is isolated from others on shared hosting?

    VPS Hosting
How do I know if my hosting provider is actually isolating my website from other users on the same server?

Good question - a lot of people don’t even think about isolation on shared servers.

One easy way is to check if your provider mentions CloudLinux, CageFS, or any virtualization layer in their plan details. These tools create separate environments for each user, so one website can’t affect another.

If the provider talks openly about these, it’s usually a good sign.

You can also test it indirectly.

If you’re on shared hosting and your site suddenly slows down at random hours (without you getting much traffic), it may mean someone else on the server is using too many resources.

Good hosting platforms prevent this with resource limits.

If your speed stays stable, it means isolation is working.
