ok i uninstalled the old version of phpbb and i cant figure out how to install a new one.

Ok, fine it seems you want to go for a fresh install of phpbb2. For you, I have posted a HOW TO on installing PHPBB2

You don't always have to do it through your control panel. You can easily download the whole PHPBB .zip file and extract it to your FTP. From there, you can easily install it through your site.

http :/ /www.domainname.com/phpbb2/install/install.php
