How to add a category in wordpress

Hello,

I am new to WordPress I don’t know exactly how to add a category and Subcategories in WordPress.

Is there anyone who can suggest me the steps for it?

Hey Danny,

Here is the easiest method to add category and Subcategories in WordPress

1. Login to Your WordPress Dashboard and go to th WordPress Post where you have to add new category.
2. When you're editing a post. You'll find them on the right-hand side, there at the top of the screen, There you can see the option to add new category.
3. To view a list of the categories currently present on your site, expand the Categories section.
4. However if you have’t yet created any categories then the option shows Uncategorized by default. So, next click on the Add New Category. Also you can add Subcategory from there only.

For instance, if you are running a blogging site you have to add Health as the main Category and add Healthy eating guides in a subcategory.
