How do I choose the right resources when selecting a hosting plan for my website? What factors should I consider?

Good question — been there. My mistake early on was picking the cheapest shared plan just because “it said unlimited.”

For your kind of site (blog + maybe e-store), shared could work in the beginning, but don’t fall for the “unlimited” marketing.

If you want to “set it and forget it,” managed hosting is gold.

But yeah — even on shared plans, I always check:

• Does it offer scalability if I suddenly get traffic?
• Are there automatic backups (seriously, this saved me once)?
• Any mention of uptime guarantee — like 99.9%?
