How to check ping, tracert and telnet report

    Hello All,

In order to check the connectivity of the domain with web/mail server these three reports are very useful to diagnose the problem. One can perform below mentioned defined steps to generate the report/s.

For Ping Report (Windows 98, XP, NT, 2003 server):
    - Click Start > Run.
    - In the Run dialog box type “command” (without quotes) and press ok.
    - DOS Command Prompt Window will open.
    - At the DOS Prompt type “Ping yourdomainname” (without quotes)
    - E.g. Ping accuwebhosting.com

For Tracert Report (Windows 98, XP, NT, 2003 server):
    - Click Start > Run.
    - In the Run dialog box type “command” (without quotes) and press ok.
    - DOS Command Prompt Window will open.
    - At the DOS Prompt type “Tracert Yourdomainname -d” (without quotes)
    - E.g. Tracert accuwebhosting.com –d

For Telnet Report (Windows 98, XP, NT, 2003 server): [To Check Mail server Connectivity]
    - Click Start > Run.
    - In the Run dialog box type “command” (without quotes) and press ok.
    - DOS Command Prompt Window will open.
    - At the DOS Prompt type “Telnet mail.Yourdomainname 25” (without quotes)
    - E.g. Telnet mail.accuwebhosting.com 25
    - E.g. Telnet mail.accuwebhosting.com 587

Note: 25 and 587 both are SMTP server ports. One can check the mail server connectivity via both these ports.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.
