    WordPress Hosting on SSD Servers

Hi all, IT team of 2 for a small business. We are looking to move away from our Windows 2016 server that is currently hosting our servers via Hyper-V. Ideally we are just looking for an option that plays nice with each other, and there seems to be several options for us to go down this path. Any particular opinions or personal experience with CentOS/Debian/Ubuntu? Thanks!

I hosted a mixture of Linux/Windows VMs on Linux hypervisors (Xen) many many years ago. With that being said, virtualization has come a long way since then, so I'd recommend either sticking with Hyper-V or going ESXi.

Hyper-V is basically free/cheap (assuming you already have Windows licenses) and ESXi can be quite cost-effective as well (especially if you can get away with the Essentials pack, which covers you for 6 physical CPUs and a vCenter instance). In fact, if you can fit whatever you need into the VMware Essentials footprint, I think that's the best bang for the buck you're going to find..
