How To Remove The Uncategorized Category From WordPress?

To remove the uncategorized category, there are two methods.

Rename the Uncategorized categories.

• First, go to Posts > Categories.
• Find the "Uncategorized" category and click on Edit.
• Change the category name to something else, and then reassign all posts in the uncategorized category to the new or a different existing category.
• Click the Update button to save the changes.

Establish a new default category.

• Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
• Navigate to Posts > Categories.
• Find the option to Add new category.
• In the Name field, type the name of your default category.
• Enter the slug.
• Click "Add New Category."
• Now, go to Settings > Writing.
• Look for the option "Default Post Category." There, select your desired default category from the list and save your changes.

From now on, WordPress will automatically assign the new default category that you have defined for your post if you forget to group a post into a particular category.

I use WordPress to publish blogs on my WordPress site, and many of my blogs are now showing in the uncategorized category that I am not able to delete from my dashboard. Can anyone explain how I can remove that category?
