There are three ways to find the FileZilla password:
1) Search and Retrieve :
- Open FileZilla and select the Export option from the top left corner of the interface.
- Upon selecting the Export option, a pop-up window will appear on the screen, displaying the available export categories. From there, kindly opt for the Export site manager entries category and select OK.
- Next, proceed to export the XML file to your personal computer. Download the file and save it in any folder of your choice in the file explorer of your computer or laptop.
2) Exploring the XML file :
- To open the downloaded XML file, locate it on your computer and right-click on it. Open the file with the help of a text editor such as Notepad or any browser. Alternatively, you can double-click on the file to open it directly.
- After opening the file, the site login details will appear. To avoid the manual search, press the CTRL + F.
- In the Find dialog box, input the name of the site, for example, My Site, where the password is located, and click on Find Next. The automated search function will take you to the section containing the specified site name.
- Next, you need to locate the password and copy it. For instance, a data string will represent the words USER and PASS. The password that you need to copy will be mentioned between these words.
Hold on, and the job still needs to be completed. The next step involves decoding the password through online tools since it is encrypted with Base64 code. Copy the encoded password.
3) Filezilla Passoword Decode
- After copying the encoded password, open your preferred search engine and search for Decode Base64. Click on any URL that appears at the top of the search results.
- Once the URL is opened, paste the copied encoded password and click the Decode option. This will enable you to view the original FTP password.
