Assuming you are unable to forward the domain at the DNS level (setting name servers etc) then you can use this:

On the index page of the subdomain put the following tag in the head:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2;url=http://myothersite.com">

The 2 represents how many seconds the user will see the page before being redirected to the URL specified.
