Hello Rachel S,
The cron job is simply a task that you schedule to run the scripts automatically at specific intervals. You can add or set up a cron job feature from the cPanel by following the simple steps,- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Under the ADVANCED section of the cPanel home, click on Cron Jobs.
- Now, type the email address where you want to receive notifications in Cron Email, and then click Update Email. Every time the cron job runs, the email account gets a message.
- Nextly, Add New Cron Job and define the interval for the command you want.
- Type the command you want to run automatically in the Command text box.
- Lastly, Click on Add New Cron Job. cPanel will create the cron job for you.
Deleting a cron job:
In order to delete a cron job when you no longer want a command to run automatically, then follow the below steps,- Firstly, Log in to your cPanel account.
- Navigate to: the ADVANCED section of the cPanel home, and click on the Cron Jobs.
- Under current Cron Jobs, click on Delete to delete the cron job that you want.
- Now, you will have to confirm that the cron job is the one that you want to delete, and then click on Delete. Thus, cPanel deletes the particular cron job which you have set.
I hope the above information will help you set up a cron Job feature from cPanel for your VPS server.
