Recently Microsoft released a critical security update to address the vulnerability in SChannel which could allow remote code execution. This vulnerability can damage all releases of Microsoft by sending specially crafted packets to a Windows server. Microsoft has released security patches to remedy this critical vulnerability.
You can secure your server by following below mentioned steps:
Click on START ==> Right click on COMPUTER ==> click on PROPERTIES
In lower left corner, you will see option WINDOWS UPDATE , Click on it.
Click on CHECK FOR UPDATES, once your server get the updates information, install them.
After installing selected updates, Windows will prompt you for several reboots, reboot your VPS.
After rebooting, your VPS will take some time in configuring installed updates, you will face some delay in receiving Remote desktop login prompt.
Run CHECK FOR UPDATES, and install updates until Windows gives you message “Windows is up to date“.
