The Internet Corporation of Assigned Names & Numbers (ICANN) has updated Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA) recently. This update process of RAA requires that domain name owners verify their identity. These changes have been applied from 1st January,2014. Accordingly, all domain registrars have made some changes in Domain registration procedure.
This change includes following points :
- When you register any domain name make sure that :
- You must mention your email address in the proper format described by RFC 5322.
- You must mention your telephone number in the proper format described in the ITU-T E.164 notation for international telephone numbers. (i.e. +[Country code] [Area/City/Trunk Code] [number]).
- You must mention your postal addresses in the proper format described by Universal Postal Union (UPU) or other standard formats.
- Once we receive your payment for domain registration, your domain will be registered immediately and you will get the confirmation mail from us for the same. Moreover, you will also receive another email from domain registrar which contain link to verify your identity.
- Since the identity verification process will be done by sending a verification email at your registrant email address, it is important that when you register a domain name, you must mention an email address that you monitor regularly. If you fail to verify this registration email within 15 Days, your domain name will be suspended.
- Once you are verified, all new registrations using the same contact information will be considered verified and will not require to verify again.
- If you change your first name, last name, email account or other WHOIS details for your existing domains, you must need to verify your identity again by above mentioned process. However, if you fail to verify your identity, then all domain names associated with the Contact information will be suspended.
Note: All domains with the same contact information will be unsuspended automatically once you verify the email account after 15 days, however you will have to allow 24-48 hours for the DNS propagation.
