How to configure the DNS
Nameservers:
Generally, the nameservers have an ns1 and ns2 as the prefix of the valid domain name. It is very important to configure your DNS server properly. If the DNS servers are not configured properly then this can reduce performance and cause to be web sites and other Internet resources inaccessible. This article tells “How can we configure the DNS through HELM control panel?”. Kindly follow below mentioned steps to configure DNS for your server through HELM control panel.
First, login into your admin control panel and go to the System settings of the control panel. Select the DNS server from the list of the servers. Click on ‘Add new’ to add the nameservers and select the IP address from the list and save it. You can add number of nameservers as per your requirement. You can also add the child nameservers.
Child nameservers:
Child Name Servers are Name Servers registered as glue records in the Registry. You can create it as per your requirement from the HELM control panel. To add a new child nameservers you have to follow above mentioned steps from the HELM control panel.
After adding the child nameservers on the DNS server, you can not directly use those nameservers as a child nameservers because you have to register those child nameservers from your domain registrar. After then, you can use those child nameservers for your domain. Please be informed that the IP address of the child nameservers remain same as the primary and secondary nameservers of the server.
